Dogs!
We’re Getting Another Dog!
Someday…
Since Susan and I have been together, we’ve been adopted by 4 dogs. Our dogs’ lives are the lives our lives revolved around. No decision has ever been made without thinking about the effect it had on our boys. Simply put, we both love dogs!
That’s why we’re not adopting one. Yet.
We’re in this lifestyle to live this lifestyle. That means we go out and see things, do things, and experience things. We’re professional sightseers. We’re active. And many of the places we go are not dog friendly. Virtually no national park allows dogs. Most of the things we do and the places we hike do not allow furry friends.
This means we’d have to leave our best buddy in the camper or board it. A young dog needs zoomies to burn off its energy. Otherwise, it may not make good decisions. We can sometimes be gone for over 12 hours at a time. It’s not fair to a dog to expect it to be home alone that long without some sort of outlet. We’d be setting it up to fail.
Susan and I both grew up with dogs. Dogs have always been important to us. They still are. Other than in college and a couple years after, I’ve been surrounded by them my whole life. Growing up, we had Dobermans, Great Danes, poodles, beagles, dachshunds, and mutts. All were awesome.
Simply put, we both love dogs! We can’t wait to be adopted by one again. And because we love them so much, we’re not adding one to our life. Yet.
